The Mayor Who Was Not Afraid to Dirty His Hands and Clear the Debris from the Drain Grates after the Rain

Social media videos normally show people throwing rubbish into the streets. This time, however, I would like to share photographs and a video showing the Mayor of Tarxien doing precisely the opposite.

Following the heavy rain, he went out with a rubbish bag and began clearing the storm-drain grates. He removed debris carried by the rainwater, including plastic bottles lodged in the openings and obstructing the flow of water into the drains.

Well done to the mayor for taking the initiative and being prepared to dirty his hands on a Sunday evening to clear the drains. This is public service by example.
