The European Union war drums are beating while Malta’s neutrality is in the balance

The majority of people go about their day without a care in the world, whilst countless thousands die at war. Humanity takes little interest in such affairs and gets on with their everyday lives. However, when war looms its ugly head, fuelled by the 24/7 propaganda of international media, the general public realizes that they have to take a stand, one way or another.
War is an ugly game, and one generally does not understand its machinations because of its complex undercurrents, under-handed manoeuvres, and machiavellian twists and turns.
One needs only to go back in history to understand the bigger picture. Like the strike of a match, a simple spark can turn into an inferno. This analogy is an example of how pre-war tactics are purposely created.
Today, the current situation in Europe is heating up as the European Union, the United States and NATO are rallying against Russia in a proxy war in Ukraine.
I am not digressing in mentioning that before the Second World War, Germany signed ‘The Molotov Ribbentrop Pact’ with Stalin. This came to be known as ‘The Hitler/Soviet Pact’. This agreement included a ten-year non-aggression pact between Germany and the Soviet Union. However, less than two years later, Germany broke this agreement and started a full-scale attack to conquer Russia.
Recently, a new pact was signed with the ‘Organisation for Security & co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Russia as trouble broke out in Ukraine. Germany and France spearheaded the ‘Minsk Agreement’ with Russia on the premise of maintaining stability and peace in Ukraine. But soon after, the Western Alliance surreptitiously sabotaged the pact. To highlight the above, the German Premier Angela Merkel went public last summer and spoke about the breach of the ‘Minsk Agreement’, stating that “this agreement was signed with the sole intent to buy time to arm and train Ukrainian soldiers to go to war against Russia”. We can now see a pattern of deceit and subterfuge emerging.
To understand the Russia/Ukraine conflict, we must return to when the Iron Curtain fell and the Cold War ended. Discussions started with the United States on May 25th, 1988, and the “Intermediate-Range Nuclear Force Treaty” (INF Treaty) was signed. The purpose of this was to seek peace and to ban the use of nuclear weapons between the Soviet Union and the United States.
The fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9th, 1989, marked the beginning of the end of the Cold War. Eventually, the Soviet Union, as part of their agreement with the United States, returned the Soviet-occupied East Germany (officially known as the German Democratic Republic) and allowed it to reunite with West Germany on October 3rd, 1990.
On the 2nd and 3rd of December 1989, Russian Mikhail Gorbachev and USA President George H.W. Bush met in Maltese waters. They signed an agreement for peace on the Russian Maksim Gorkiy’ using Malta’s neutrality status as a symbol of peace for this pivotal Peace Summit.
Ukraine became independent from Russia during this period, and a pro-Russian President was elected.
East and West Germany were unified due to the peace talks and as part of these negotiations. It was agreed that NATO would never venture beyond the borders of Germany so that the Western Alliance would not threaten Russia.
However, during US President Clinton’s tenure in office, the NATO Agreement was rebuked, and strategic armaments were placed in ex-Soviet countries. Unfortunately, pacts with Russia always seem to be broken, but this time, they were made by the United States.
Decades later, Ukraine’s pro-European trajectory was abruptly halted in November 2013 when a planned Association Agreement with the European Union was scuttled just days before it was scheduled to be signed. President Viktor Yanukovych bowed to the intense pressure from Moscow, and street protests erupted in Kyiv.
A year later, in January 2014, Yanukovych signed a series of laws restricting the right to protest. Though with further provocation to topple the government, the CIA paid crowds and rallied supporters to go to the streets, and bloody clashes between police and protestors erupted once more, causing dozens more to be injured as hundreds of thousands of people clashed with the authorities.
Viktor Yanukovych abandoned his post and fled to Russia.
Soon after, on May 25th 2014, Petro Poroshenko was elected as the new Prime Minister of Ukraine. During his presidency, Poroshenko led the country into the first phase of the war in the Donbas region of Ukraine against the ethnic Russian Ukrainians. To repeat, the ‘Minsk Agreement’ was signed in September 2014 to create peace in the area with the aid of the OSCE (Organisation of Security and Corporation Europe), and Russia stood down and stopped the imminent threat of destroying the Ukrainian army.
Volodymyr Zelensky was elected as Ukraine’s President on May 20th 2019. He started oppressing Christians by closing down many of their churches, as well as oppressing ethnic Ukranian Russians and ethnic Ukranian Romanian citizens inside Ukraine. He also caused 15,000 innocent people to die, and many more thousands were also injured or went missing. People in the country were forced to stop speaking Romanian and Russian openly and in schools. The ethnic Russians were left with no option but to turn to Russia. As explained earlier in this article, the ‘Minsk 11 Agreement’ was sabotaged. The Russian Federation, in a desperate last cry, sent a proposed agreement to seek co-operation with the Western Alliance in February 2022 so that war would not break out with Ukraine. The Western Alliance ignored this gesture of peace, and Russia had no option but to go to war.
Ukraine is never going to win this war, but since Ukraine is a rich country in resources, the West and its associates, such as ‘Blackrock’, ‘Vanguard’, and ‘State Street’, to mention a few, supported Ukraine in the war. This is because these corporations had vested interests in the land and ganged up like a pack of dogs to claim their pound of flesh. Ukraine became the sacrificial lamb, slaughtered while the alliance and their cronies accumulated unaccountable wealth.
Today, Russia’s relationship with the West is broken due to wrong decision-making in past agreements. Consequently, Russia would never accept NATO near their borders. Russia is always ready to broker a peace deal so long as NATO and foreign military forces remain off Ukraine’s soil, leaving Ukraine to be free and independent in policy making.
It is a terrible shame that the Western Alliance is offering nothing but war and refuses to find a peaceful solution amid all this terrible devastation and bloodshed. Today the European Union is beating its war drums to create a Federation with a military alliance of all its member states, and Malta could so easily be sucked into this mess.
It is important to note that Malta is a neutral country. Neutrality is embedded in our constitution and was also accepted by the European Union during Malta’s accession. However, Malta joined the ‘Partnership For Peace’ with NATO, so we have violated our Neutrality Status. Malta is sending €770,000 and an additional €55,000 for yearly joint exercises with NATO, paid from our taxpayer’s money, which is now being redirected to the Ukrainian war. This is unacceptable!
It is abundantly clear that the Ukraine war is based on lies with significant undercurrents and deception. I seriously feel that our tax money should not go to support any war, and I strongly recommend, in protest, depositing our tax in court to prevent our subsidizing any further carnage and destruction.
MALTA HAS TO REMAIN MILITARILY UNALIGNED AND NEUTRAL!
It has come to light that on March 26th 2024, a meeting was held between NATO and the AFM at the Armed Forces of Malta Barracks. At this point, I quote: ‘Malta is a neutral state actively pursuing peace, security and social progress among all nations by adhering to a policy of non-alignment and refusing to participate in any military alliance’. Yet NATO is a military alliance!
So how can our government have these discussions without public knowledge and our participation, and sign an agreement with NATO which goes against our neutrality and, worst of all, agrees to mobiliże our young men and women anytime in the future, to go to war as mentioned in this agreement? How dare our government and NATO agree to this when Malta is neutral, and our neutrality and our role have always been to advocate peace?
Malta must advocate for peace and dialogue as our forefathers intended. Choosing the wrong pato and losing our neutrality will place us in great peril as we will become embroiled in other people’s wars, which will only feed a few in their secret agendas and conspiracies.
At all costs, we must say NO to military alliances – NO to war – and YES to dialogue and peace.

The Maltese government needs a strong reminder regarding our country’s neutral stance. It is simply outrageous that the government held meetings that go against our constitution.

The people of Malta must demand that this contract be torn to shreds because NEVER will we ever agree to send our children to be slaughtered or maimed. Just think of what’s happening in Ukraine where children as young as twelve are being hauled out of their homes and sent to fight. So called elected leaders across Europe, who seem more like selected leaders, have been making horrendous judgement calls for too long, and beating these war drums against Russia is going way too far. And how ironic that Russia now has the largest Practicing Christian population in Europe while the rest of Europe is growing ever more atheistic.
But spiritual practices apart, how far sighted Dom Mintoff was in insisting on entrenching neutrality in the constitution. Yet despite that, our neutrailty is being ignored by our elected representatives. This is treasonous. Going against a fundamental principle of our constitution is an act of treason.
And if our citizens are sent off to war in Ukraine, what exactly would our govt policy be regarding all those Ukrainian citizens who have fled the war and avoided enlistment? Would they continue to be given refuge, avoiding enlistment, while our own citizens are forced to go and fight and die in Ukraine?
Let us not forget that the USA broke its undertak8ng “not to move NATO one inch eastward”, in the words of Secretary of State James Baker. How dare the USA play war games and power games on our continent?
Also let us not forget that European nations have attacked Russian through the plains of Ukraine. It is the obvious entry point, and thus strategically important for both any European invader and for Russian security.
But there is more. The moment Ukraine is brought into NATO, nukes will be placed on the border with Russia, ie amidst ethnic Russian Ukrainians, who would thus become human shields. In the event of a missile exchange, it would be Russians on both sides of the border who would be wiped out. This is outrageous!! MALTA WAKE UP! and the Maltese President of the EU Parliament, Dr Metsola, wake up! Do not be pawns in the corrupt globalists’ power games. This has never been about either Russia or Ukraine. It is all about geo political manoevring, as the emerging economies seek to free themselves from the yoke of western imperialist/neo colonial hegemony. How could you not see this? It is so obvious.
And Malta, of all countries in the EU should know better than to return to the old servility of colonial masters. It is not only our neutrality and European security which are at stake here. It is also our independence and our integrity as a former colony that should understand the power games being played against emerging economies.
Most political decisions taken by elected representatives can eventually be remedied if they turn out to be bad ones. But this one cannot. And that is precisely why Dom Mintoff sought to prevent this mistake from ever being made. And yet here we are, so close to tearing up our own constitution, and with it, shattering any hope of not returning to those servile days of marching to the tune of neo colonial powers, which both main parties had committed to avoid.

Indeed, the US is an instigating trickster flaunting $billions when it is buried under a $34+trillion deficit. Our Government and the EU Commission President need to jump off their pedestals and clear their heads because they’ve gone off their rocker kowtowing to warlords. The AMF must retract its signatory with NATO; withdraw immediately. The Maltese people cannot respect the AFM if the AFM does not respect Malta’s neutrality.
