“Conspiracy theorists” – how the American Establishment used it to kill critical thinking?

Blog post by Marica Micallef

All those who are critical of the measures and literature about Covid19 are being called conspiracy theorists. But do all those who are using this expression know its origins? I wish to remind those who like to dub those individuals who are critical against the establishment as conspiracy theorists, that these individuals are the ones who have a suspicious mind and are able to practise critical thinking. Those accused as conspiracy theorists are the ones who question what is happening around them.

Do the ones who labelled persons as “conspiracy theorists” know that this term was made popular by the CIA to stop critical thinkers from asking questions about J.F. Kennedy assassination? In a memo called “Countering Criticism of the Warren Report”, the CIA set out to make the term “conspiracy theorist”, a weapon to be used against anyone who questioned the government’s secret activities and programs. And one day, those who are on the opposing side will realise that what politicians and the media told you not to believe, was the truth.
