Trump and Musk Meet Modi: A New Global Axis that is Leaving Europe Behind

Those who expected Donald Trump to isolate America have miscalculated. If any countries risk being sidelined, it is the European nations.

In a high-profile diplomatic engagement, U.S. President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi took to Twitter to share insights from his discussion with Musk, which covered critical areas such as space exploration, mobility, technology, and innovation. He also highlighted India’s push for Minimum Government and maximum governance, emphasising reforms aimed at streamlining administration and boosting economic growth. The meeting explored new opportunities for collaboration in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and governance.

Musk, accompanied by his partner Shivon Zilis and their three children, met Modi at Blair House, describing the encounter as an “honour.” He expressed keen interest in India’s rapid advancements in electric vehicles and space exploration, signalling potential future investments and cooperation.

Meanwhile, Modi also held talks with Trump and later announced on Twitter his commitment to Viksit Bharat, a vision for a developed and self-reliant India. The initiative is expected to pave the way for a large-scale U.S.-India partnership to foster economic prosperity and technological innovation.

These meetings highlight a shifting global dynamic, strengthening the strategic ties between India and the United States under Trump’s leadership. Far from isolating America, Trump is redefining its alliances, prioritising partnerships that drive innovation and economic progress. Contrary to his critics’ claims, Trump’s approach does not signal U.S. withdrawal from the world stage but rather a recalibration—one that sees Europe increasingly on the periphery. At the same time, the U.S. forges deeper connections with emerging global powers like India.
