Elon Musk’s DOGE Hire Sparks Controversy Over Online Alias “Big Balls”

In a recent CNN segment, tech journalist Kara Swisher humorously suggested that Elon Musk’s decision to hire a 19-year-old high school graduate known online as “Big Balls” might have been influenced by the nickname itself. The young technologist in question is Edward Coristine, who has been brought into Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a group associated with Musk’s initiatives in government and tech policy.

During the CNN Erin Burnett OutFront discussion, Burnett asked Swisher, “The Big Balls here… I’m curious, Kara, how well does even Musk know these young men?” Swisher responded with a quip: “I could make a joke; that’s probably why he was hired for all this ridiculous nonsense.”

Coristine’s appointment has drawn discussion on social media, with many speaking in favour of his appointment. In one post, the hypocrisy of the media was highlighted as this was the same media that hailed the right of 16 years to vote and described it as a revolutionary decision but then took a quip on the fact that a 19-year-old is employed. This man used big balls as his nickname.

Even Elon Musk joined the discussion and took the whole story with a pinch of salt and amusement. He tweeted, laughing at CNN as they seemed to have nothing better to transmit.
