Yesterday’s Knife Attack in Germany Resparks Immigration Debate
This site was the only news portal that reported yesterday’s knife attack in Germany, which resulted in two deaths, including a child, and two injuries. There was a complete blackout in the local media of this story.
It has now emerged that a 28-year-old Afghan migrant, Enamullah O., was behind the attack in Aschaffenburg’s Schöntal Park. The victims included a two-year-old boy and a 41-year-old man who intervened. Enamullah O., who lived in taxpayer-funded asylum accommodations, was known to authorities for prior violent behaviour and had been ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment. Despite his asylum application being withdrawn and a requirement to leave Germany, he remained in the country.

The suspect had previously attacked a kindergarten group and had been detained three times for violent behaviour. On December 4, 2024, it was announced that he would voluntarily leave the country, according to the tabloid Bild.
European policies are now being blamed for this attack. Social media is full of accusations that there are others dead because of failed European policies.

Germany is currently in a full-blown electoral campaign, and this attack can only help the Alternative for Germany (AfD) as it backs its political rhetoric. This incident has intensified discussions on immigration and security. Opposition parties, including the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), are advocating for stricter immigration controls and expedited deportations. Chancellor Olaf Scholz condemned the attack as an “unbelievable act of terror” and emphasised the need for consequences regarding the suspect’s continued presence in Germany.

The attack follows a series of violent incidents involving migrants, such as the Solingen stabbing in August 2024, where a Syrian asylum seeker killed three people. These events have further fueled public debate on the effectiveness of current immigration policies and the handling of rejected asylum seekers.
