This Site Was the First to Unveil the EuroPride Scandal but Faces Accusations of Spreading Fake News by the Mainstream Media
Yesterday, the Nationalist Party denounced the millions spent on EuroPride as “shameful and deplorable.” However, it is important to recall that this site was the first to uncover and question the scandal surrounding this event. This site published an article investigating the circumstances and the substantial sums of money—amounting to millions—paid to bring Christina Aguilera to Malta for a concert as part of the EuroPride activities. Notably, this article was released before the PN began scrutinising the event. At that time, the mainstream media fully supported the government’s decision to host EuroPride, and opposition members actively participated in the celebrations instead of raising concerns about the expenditure.

It is essential to highlight that Sylvan Agius, a gay activist, has instituted libel proceedings against this site for questioning his activism. He initially sent a legal letter demanding this site cease publishing articles about him. As this site continued reporting on him, Agius escalated matters by initiating legal proceedings for slander. In his legal defence, Agius referred to articles published here about EuroPride, labelling them as defamatory. Furthermore, Agius is represented by the law firm Mifsud & Mifsud, whose founding partner, Malcolm Mifsud, frequently appears on national television as a defender of the Nationalist Party, often criticising the Labour government for corruption.
Agius was previously part of the Directorate under Helena Dalli during the organisation of EuroPride, with Dalli herself participating in the activities. Today, Agius positions himself as a political activist, claiming he is in politics to bring about change. However, it is essential to recall that he pursued libel proceedings against this site in what appears to be an attempt to suppress investigative reporting about him. It has since come to light that Agius was already involved in political organisations and played a key role in forming a political party in Malta while working in Brussels and earning a lucrative salary.
Meanwhile, the mainstream media continues to portray these new political parties as agents of change, despite the fact that at least one of their prominent figures has attempted to silence this site from investigating him. Moreover, this site’s persistent efforts to expose government scandals, including those linked to an LGBTIQ event organised in Malta, reaffirm that it does not publish fake news, contrary to the accusations frequently levelled against it by the mainstream media.
Below is the article this site initially published about the EuroPride event—an activity that the PN is only now beginning to scrutinise.
