The wife of the Police Commissioner and volunteer in Lara Dimitrijevic’s organisation got promoted to police superintendent
Sylvana Gafa, who is the wife of the police commissioner, got promoted to police superintendent. Sylvana Gafa is also a volunteer who has worked in the organization of Lara Dimitrijevic.
According to a government directive, public servants can take paid leave to work for NGOs for a year. Obviously, I am inclined to ask whether Sylvana Gafa received any remuneration when she was working with Lara Dimitrijevic’s voluntary organization. One must remember that Lara Dimitrijevic’s brother, a partner in the same legal firm as Lara Dimitrijevic, had been named in the media for corrupt practices.
What can be stated for sure is that Sylvana Gafa was on the Victim Support Agency Board and received a remuneration of 1,690,30 euros as a member.

In the meantime, Sylvana Gafa and her husband, the Police commissioner, were in the news for the big villa they bought in Marsaxlokk.
Even if he loses his post as commissioner of police, I am sure Mr and Mrs Fava can manage to each pay €20k out of their two salaries for 23 years to cover the cost of the purchase of their villa with a loan from a bank and still live comfortably as a family. I should think they had put some money in front too for the purchase and refurbishment of the villa.
