Matthew Vella of Malta Today writes a manipulative article about me, distorting facts to support a man who received funds from Yorgen Fenech’s family for his political campaign.
Yesterday, Malta Today covered the story that Manuel Delia will sue me for libel. Till here, it is fine. They are doing their job, and it is a news item. Nevertheless, the journalist, Matthew Vella, used this story to launch an attack on me and write an article supporting Manuel Delia. In my blog, I was discussing political corruption that used to take place in Austin Gatt’s ministry. Matthew Vella penned a whole article to support a man who was supporting political corruption under the Nationalist Government and attack an academic seeking to bring the whole truth out.
However, there is more to this story. This biased article shows Malta Today’s true spirit. Matthew Vella gave the links to Manuel Delia’s article but did not dare to give a link to the article that has given rise to this whole issue. I wrote two articles regarding this story. Matthew Vella hyperlinked only one of them.
Even more disturbing is that Manuel Delia admitted that he received money for his electoral campaign from Yorgen Fenech’s family. Vella mentioned this piece of news but without giving it its due importance. This is a piece of information of national importance.
Nevertheless, he then resorted to giving a litany of the libel cases that have been opened against me. This journalist forgot the outcry made by the three judges about the many libel cases instituted against Daphne Caruana Galizia! This man, who is so excited to attack my writings, gets prizes for the best journalism in Malta!
In this article, Matthew Vella resorted to attacking Keith Schembri, forgetting the many times that Keith Schembri held lunches and dinners with his boss, Saviour Balzan, and the thousand if not millions of euros that the media house which employs him received from Joseph Muscat and his government when Keith Schembri served as chief of staff. He does not realize that my article was referring to 2006 and 2007 when Keith Schembri was conducting his own private business, as any other citizen in Malta has a right to do. If this is not selective, malicious journalism, I do not know what it is.
On a more personal note, I would like to thank all those individuals and citizens who wrote comments on the article of Matthew Vella in my defence while exposing the journalistic hypocrisy of Manuel Delia.

Prosit Profs.Ultra milli ghandek ragun fuq il-Maltatoday.
What do you expect from ‘journalist’ Matthew Vella? IHe surely does not know the true meaning of impartiality in his articles. Vella has penned a long list of impartial articles. Sensationalism and popularism are the factors driving his articles.
D M Briffa was a regular on the infamous Running Commentary….. same namesake as my alias posting here.
Now we know D stands for David as Manuel Delia thanked david for the donation of Euro 100 to assist him in expenses linked to the libel against you. David bragged that there are few people he despises as much as he despises you….for, amongst others, writing about the Caruana Galizias, ie, the holy cows no-one should dare ever mention lest we want to burn in hell for all eternity!
Are these people for real?

The problem is the woke media. They are liberals.
Dr Mercieca, Dan hu iz`zmien fejn int ser turi dak li jghidu l`Inglizi ‘the stuff you are made of.` Int mhux avversarju wiehed ghandek izda hafna. Dawk bhax-xjaten .. legjun. Jaghtu bil-ponnijiet taht ic-cinturin. Flok jirribattu bl-argumenti huma jirridikulaw, icekknu, jheddu bil-libelli insomma u fuq kollox attakki personali mhux eskluzi. Lilek sejhulek ultra lemini biex jitfghu fuqek id-dell tal-faxxizmu. Dawn huma l-wild ta` nies li ghorku jdejhom meta Manuel Dimech kien eziljat, meta sezzjoni gurnalista Maltija kienet taht kundanni sahansitra spiritwali. Zomm sod.
Expect nothing better from Jason Azzopardi’s friend.
Last seen taking files in his hand from dottor qzzoprdi outside th law courts valletta! I can vouch. I tqke coffee at capolino everyday.
Can I say something? Matthew Vella used to organise editors from Times and Independent to write joint editorials and they would follow suit, taking unpopular stands to promote his progressive woke dare i say extreme left ideas. He used mainstream media for his leftwing agenda.
