Jason Azzopardi has known for a long time that Malta’s Secret Service attempted to misdirect in Daphne Caruana Galizia’s murder. Why is he saying so only now?

Recently, Jason Azzopardi posted a blog to declare that for some time now he has known that the Maltese Secret Service attempted to misdirect in the case of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

On his blog page, Jason Azzopardi posted that for years he has been aware that, in the case of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s murder, the Maltese Secret Service were misdirecting. Jason Azzopardi carries on by stating that he has been in the know all along since, more or less, the day she was assassinated. But why is Jason Azzopardi confessing to this only now? Why did he take so long to come clean?  Why did he not draw the attention of the magistrate responsible for the compilation of evidence in the case of Daphne Caruana Galizia about this fact? Here is a translation of what Jason Azzopardi wrote:

I have long wanted to write about this. Today, I have decided to write a little on the crucial and great importance of this story and its implications.

I, who experienced first-hand the immediate hours after Daphne’s murder, know why the Malta Secret Services were relaying and releasing a false narrative and the motive for this murder was the contraband of fuel. I also know that the MSS contacted the Italian Secret Service for them to pass on the same narrative to the Italian media. I am well in the know of all this because I am aware of what a journalist from the Italian Secret Service, who was in Malta the day following the murder, was told.

I have good reason to believe that the Malta Secret Service was creating such a narrative in coordination with the Office of the Prime Minister at Castile.

Today, you are reading about what I got to know then and later. And which media in Malta transmitted, as much as possible, that same narrative dictated by Castile.

Jason Azzopardi is not just any lawyer. Jason Azzopardi is the lawyer of the Caruana Galizia family and represents them in matters concerning Daphne’s murder. Therefore, why is he making these grave accusations against Malta’s Secret Service now? It is to be borne in mind that chairing the MSS is the Commissioner of Police and both the MSS and the Police worked together when investigating her murder.

After all, what Jason Azzopardi has written puts the prosecutors and the Deputy Advocate General of the Republic in a bad light. Is it at all possible that Jason Azzopardi was aware of this misdirection from the very beginning, yet the Deputy Advocate of the Republic, Philip Galea Farrugia did not? And if the latter did know and what Jason Azzopardi is stating is true, why did Galea Farrugia not bring this to the attention of the courts and inform the magistrate investigating the case about such a misdirection?

I wish to remind the reader that when I started asking question about Philip Galea Farrugia, he told the magistrate courts that he was feeling threatened by my articles! Logic therefore makes us follow-up just how much more threatened are those victims of this alleged misdirection on the part of Malta’s Secret Service?

Above all, why have the family Caruana Galizia and Matthew Caruana Galizia never mentioned this alleged misdirection? By any chance, did this family seal an agreement with the Malta’s Secret Service so that the latter would keep its mouths shut about terrible things that these same Secret Service know about them? Is it possible that the Malta Secret Service know the contents of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s laptop and also have a copy? And why did the Caruana Galizia family keep its mouth shut and never accused or mentioned the names of those politicians involved in this ugly murder?

It is only now that we have the Caruana Galizia’s lawyer going public and declaring that the Malta’s Secret Service have known all along ever since when Daphne was killed who is truly responsible but sought to frame someone else with this murder! It is too far-fetched to even remotely entertain the possibility that the family was not aware of this misdirection!
