Camilleri published a screenshot from a WhatsApp conversation that appears to have taken place between Joseph Muscat and a government official. In this private chat, the government official, whom Camilleri does not name, informs Muscat that Steward Healthcare was being investigated in the US by the Federal Authorities for fraud and corruption. This communication took place in January 2018. Muscat asks the Government official whether his information was in the public domain. The government official replies in the negative, to which reply, Muscat responds that as long as it is still not public, this investigation is not a problem to him.
