Does the PN really need to spend hefty sums of money on an electoral campaign?

Blog post by Dr. Hermann Farrugia

The PN has now a fixated mind that wants at all costs Joseph Muscat behind bars. This fixation is going to cost them the elections. They are not realizing what is happening behind closed doors in the Labour Party. They are not asking who was really behind the move or gave the go-ahead to send the police to Joseph Muscat’s house. In Malta, for such a thing to take place, there is a need for political approval.

The truth is that the risk is that irrespective of the election outcome, which is known to all and sundry, the PN will continue, even after the elections on insisting that the proper place for Joseph Muscat is in jail.

With such an attitude, the PN will continue digging its own political grave. For this reason, I have created this image of Joseph Muscat behind bars. One must expect a similar billboard, paid from the money collected from the PN supporters to be set out during the election campaign. What is sure is that the PN strategy team is in the process of commissioning something of the sort. I’m not a prophet… yet once again, you wait and see. PN, unfortunately, doesn’t know anything different.

In truth, such types of billboards will be only sending a negative message to the electorate. Such an attitude is only expressing a vindicative spirit and the chances are that the PN will fall into the trap of producing puerile billboards which will do more harm than good to the party. For this reason, I am questioning the PN’s strategy to use any of the collected money to pay for the political propaganda. It should be put where the Party’s mouth is.

If it is with this fixated frame of mind that certain Party Officials, Strategists, Net News journalists along with so very many so-called Nationalist stalwarts expect ‘their’ Party to approach the fast oncoming Malta Election Campaign ‘22, and which timing has by now already been decided by Prime Minister Abela… then as of now, might as well allow Partit Laburista enjoy their ‘ WALKOVER’22 ’ enabling respective Parties to agree and settle for vastly subdued Electoral efforts with active avoidance of hefty spending through thorough control of Campaigns expenditure. So much futile ‘collective’ energies and resources would indeed be spared and the already planned ‘FundRaiser’ Marathons would not be ‘Electoral’ ones but more ably directed at mitigatory containment of the Party’s ongoing haemorrhagic financial position.
