Jacob Borg is not respecting the mission and core values of the Times of Malta.
The tweet below by Jacob Borg goes against the mission statement of the Times of Malta and its holding company Allied Newspapers Limited. The mission is to disseminate credible content that enriches life, informs, educates, and entertains. The tweet below for sure does not contain credible content. Perhaps, it aims only to be entertaining.
The core values of Allied Newspapers are to hold true to its value of democracy, truth, credibility, political independence, and innovation. Today’s credibility rests on what a convicted criminal, with a clear agenda, has to say about the conditions in prison, but as was stated in one of the comments, what about his (meaning the criminal) victims?
Attacking individuals for speaking the truth about the case of Yorgen Fenech, a person who is still to be tried has become a sport for the Times of Malta but interviewing a convicted criminal, with a clear record of harassing prison wardens is the innovation introduced by the Times according to its Core Values.
