Matthew Caruana Galizia is creating unnecessary sensationalism which only goes to further foment unwarranted resentment in the public at large

Today’s Times of Malta informs us that Matthew Caruana Galizia has come up on twitter with the news that Yorgen Fenech paid for the Degiorgio Brothers’ defence. It would be of help to also learn who gave Matthew this information and how correct and reliable is his source. But, as usual, Matthew fails miserably to substantiate his claim in any way or at least so it seems from the TOM report.

As I write, no other paper, except for Malta Today, has carried this news item so far. Perhaps the other local papers have better judgement as to what is truly newsworthy.

While, one can have all the empathy in the world for Matthew, considering his horrible experience, it is time that – like so many, many people, who experience tragedy in one form or another – with good grace, he allows justice to do her work.  He has to refrain from creating unnecessary sensationalism which only goes to further foment unwarranted resentment in the public at large, If Matthew’s purpose is to whip up more hatred then, undoubtedly, he is doing a good job. But as to what purpose leaves me in a quandary.
