Malta Ranks Third Worldwide in Charitable Giving

A recent post on X highlighted an interesting global ranking concerning charitable giving. According to the data shared, Malta ranks third in the world for the share of people who donate to charity.
The ranking lists the percentage of people in each country who reported donating to charity. In this list, Malta ranks highest in Europe, surpassed globally only by Myanmar and Indonesia.
The data originates from the Charities Aid Foundation, which analysed findings from a 2023 Gallup survey involving more than 145,000 respondents across 142 countries. The study examined the percentage of people who reported donating money to charity during the previous month.
The figures were later visualised and presented by Voronoi, a platform associated with Visual Capitalist, which publishes data-driven graphics and global statistics.
Malta’s high ranking reflects a strong tradition of charitable engagement among its population. Despite its small size, the country demonstrates a remarkable level of philanthropic participation compared with much larger nations.
