The Malta meeting for peace in Ukraine is occurring amidst accusations that Zelensky is hard for cash. At least, this is the view of some of the international commentators. Opening a second front in the Middle East made the situation more difficult for Zelensky regarding cash flow. At least, this is the opinion that is held by the pro-Russian supporters in this war with Ukraine.

In front of Zelensky’s request for more money and the Western inflation due to its support of this war, international pressure is mounting on Ukraine to end this insane war. Thus, Malta appeared as a suitable venue for holding this international meeting, and the Maltese Government did the right thing to host it. However, international commentators see this meeting as an attempt by Zelensky to beg for more money.

Several European Governments are supporting him, but there is also a limit to how much money they can continue providing Ukraine. Despite all the international rhetoric, America seems to be running dry of funds with all these wars. Whether one likes it or not, Israel is a priority for America, and if America has to choose between Zelensky and Israel, the obvious choice would be Israel.

Now, what will Malta do in front of the request by Ukraine for more money? Ukraine is asking European states to hand over all the Russian capital they get from Russian citizens. Is Malta ready to offer Ukraine all the rental incomes currently accrued from renting properties to Russian oligarchs and citizens to Zelensky in support of his war effort?

Zelensky wants the world to give him all the Russian assets. Are not the rents accrued in Malta from Russian citizens also part of the Russian money Zelensky claims for his war efforts?
