David Casa praises von der Leyen’s speech when it was so dull and pointless that one of her commissioners preferred knitting instead of listening attentively to her.

David Casa wrote a lengthy post on Facebook to praise Von der Leyen’s speech on the state of the European Union. Van der Leyen gave her speech about the State of the Union last Wednesday.

It was a speech that was not received very well in many quarters. Von der Leyen is now being described as a big disaster for the EU. She does not care about the EU but uses this position to eye another post, leading the NATO alliance. This shows that the EU is second if not third, or fourth fiddle in terms of importance in Europe. It is an association destined to fail and collapse.

David Casa tried to impress his audience by making a whole eulogy for Von der Leyen’s speech. The EU Chief Von der Leyen’s speech was partly about Ukraine and migration, where she spoke about the “call of history”. One of her leading commissioners was caught knitting. The international media described Europe’s Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson clicking away with her needles during a landmark speech in the Parliamentary hemicycle, as an incongruous sight. In Malta, none of our media reported this story so as not to undermine the big flop of Ursula von der Leyen’s speech.

  1. Perhaps the knitting lady knows her literature and is purposely reminding us of a certain Madame Defarge.. sitting there quietly taking notes….
