Recently, the EU President, Ursula Von der Leyen, made a speech about the history of the State of Israel. This speech brought strong criticism because it was utterly insensitive to the Palestinian question and the sufferings of the Palestinian people. However, this time, the criticism did not come from Arab nations but from groups within Europe. While there should be no doubt that the State of Israel is there to stay, at the same time, one cannot ignore the plea and suffering of a whole Arab nation through the manipulation of history. The truth is that Ursula Von der Leyen used her position within the EU in support of her native country Germany in its bid to rid itself of the Holocaust guilt. In return, Germany is giving carte blanche to the state of Israel against the Palestinians.
