Will Malta’s Women Rights Foundation condemn the misogynist comment of the Bis-Serjeta’ Website against Rosianne Cutajar? I doubt it.
Malta’s Women’s Rights Foundation supports the satirical posts of the Bis-Serjeta’ website. Yesterday, this website put up a post that is misogynistic in content. If an ordinary citizen had put up such a post, rest assured that the Women’s Rights Foundation would be calling out to have the content of this post reported to the police because of its misogynist content. This local Foundation is led by lawyer Lara Dimitrijevic, who does not hide the admiration of her Foundation for the Bis-Serjeta’ website. The post in question was put by the Bis-Serjeta’ Website against Rosianne Cutajar, after the latter resigned from the Labour Parliamentary group. Judging by the same laws the Women’s Right Foundation supported, this post is tantamount to hate speech.
As the post below shows, in the past, the Women’s Right Foundation was in cahoots with Bis-Serjeta’s website, asking for donations and funding in support of their campaign to introduce abortion in Malta. One can bet that the so-called Women’s Right Foundation will not say a word about this post, published by the Bis-Serjeta’ with such strong misogynist content, even though Rosianne Cutajar supports the introduction of abortion in Malta. All sorts of women’s solidary gone with the wind.
If someone else had said such a comment in different circumstances, the Women’s Right Foundation would be calling out loud to the police to start prosecution against those concerned for hate speech against women. Imagine if such a statement was said by a priest or someone who is dubbed by the mainstream media as a Far Right activist. In that case, a full-scale social media campaign would call out for a national condemnation, and a police report would have been filed for misogynist behaviour. The advocate general’s office would issue a lengthy charge sheet against the poor fellow.
This meme exposes the hypocrisy of this foundation. The Women’s Rights Foundation is definitely warped.
