Has a magisterial inquiry been opened following Bojan Cmelik’s suicide attempt in prison?
This site can reveal that Serbian Bojan Cmelik last week attempted suicide. Cmelik, accused of killing Hugo Chetcuti, had been found guilty and condemned to life in prison.
During the period that Corradino prison was under Alex Dalli, whenever an inmate attempted suicide, a magisterial inquiry would be held as well as a police investigation. There was even the Ombudsman who investigated!
One asks whether, after this latest attempted suicide, a magistrate’s inquiry has been opened and whether the police are investigating as used to be the case in the past? So far, since Cmelik’s was taken to Mater Dei, there has been no other update or media reports on this last attempted suicide in prison.
