Is it pastoral and moral to condemn a priest for teaching the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church?

In writing this article I have no intention to defame or disparage anyone.  In intellectually opposing individuals or organisations promoting the homosexual agenda, my only intent is the defence of marriage, the family, and what’s left of Christian civilization in our society.

That said, the media uproar that erupted in the wake of Father David Muscat’s recent Facebook comments on homosexuality merit an authentic doctrinal consideration on the part of those who still cleave to the immutable truths of the Catholic Faith. Indeed, for if certain socialist politicians, the liberal-leftist media cabal, and the LGBT propagandists would have their way, Holy Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Saint Paul, and several other Catholic saints would most likely be placed in the dock in this country for teaching Christian truth about sodomy.

What would they say and do in terms of God’s biblical commandment? “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; such a thing is an abomination” (Leviticus, 18:20).  Would they call the Police Commissioner to have Saint Paul arrested for his First Letter to the Corinthians? “Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminates and sodomites, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God“ (1 Corinthians. 6: 9-10). While they are at it, let them also prosecute Church Fathers and Doctors such as Saint Justin the Martyr, Saint Irenaeus of Lyon, Athenagoras of Athens, Eusebius of Caesarea, Saint Jerome, Saint John Chrysostom, Saint Augustine, and Saint Gregory the Great to name a few, presumably equally guilty of proclaiming Christian truth on this matter.

This notwithstanding, the greatest scandal is that of an Archbishop overflowing with charity for Catholic LGBT/homosexuality apologists who obstinately persist in error whilst condemning a priest for daring to speak the truth of the faith. Perchance, have we forgotten the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) statements in this regard? “Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.” They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved”. (CCC, no. 2357).

A true pastor would use his apostolic dignity to preach austere truths, mortification, and the Cross in order to save souls.  He would never let charity obfuscate the truth because charity without truth is meaningless.
