Were there any variations in the rate of neonatal deaths in Malta in these last two years?

While the Times of Malta told us that Covid had no impact on health for expectant mothers because according to a study carried out between March 2020 and May 2021, “Pregnant women in Malta who tested positive for COVID-19 were not exposed to any additional risks despite their infection status”.[1]
However, so far, there was no study conducted about the effect on local expectant mothers and their newborns after taking the Covid-19 vaccine.
Our mainstream media also fails to give the other side of the coin. In Scotland, a probe has been launched after there were 21 newborn deaths in just one month, seeing a spike in neonatal deaths this September. According to the Scottish Sun[2]:
“Official figures revealed 21 Scots babies died within 28 days of birth in September. The rates usually vary on a monthly basis, but September saw a rate of 4.9 per 1,000 live births – levels which were last seen in the 1980s. The shocking figure caused Scotland’s neonatal mortality rate to pass the ‘control limit’ warning threshold for the first time in four years. The control and warning limits were put in place to alert public health teams when neonatal deaths are occurring at unprecedentedly high or low levels and if there is a reason causing them.”
The same media portal adds that this was one of its kind and it was the first time that “there has been an abnormal spike since the pandemic first began.”
Actually, I think they ‘forgot’ to add that this abnormal spike happened after the rollout of the covid-19 vaccines to pregnant women. Isn’t it no coincidence that this one-of-a-kind spike is being seen after the vaccine rollout?
And what about the rest of the world and Malta? Did the death rate of neo-natal deaths in Malta remain the same or were there variations?
