The Press Conference given by Pope Francis on his return from Cyprus: defines Helen Dalli’s document as a new form of colonialism.

In reaction to Pope Francis’ position on the document formulated by Helena Dalli, a reader sent the following message in Maltese to Archbishop Scicluna asking him to take a position against Helena Dalli’s document and telling him that there are no longer excuses for him not to speak up in defence of the Christian civilization in Malta:

Meta Arċisqof Scicluna, bħala r-ragħaj tal-Kattoliċi Maltin ħa joħroġ għonqu u jitkellem biex jiddefendi il-fidi tagħna u jirreagixxi għall-attakki li qed isiru fuq il-Knisja tagħna? Il-kurja ma lisnitx kelma fuq dak li ppruvat tagħmel Helena Dalli il-ġimgħa l-oħra. Il-Papa tkellem. Mela Mons Scicluna ma baqagħlu l-ebda skuża biex iżomm ħalqu magħluq!

Towards the end of the press conference, the Pope talks about migration in the Mediterranean. He mentions the traffickers. He also mentions the EU’s responsibility to receive migrants. He even mentions those countries in the Mediterranean which are receiving, including Sicily and Lampedusa but he does not mention Malta at all! I believe that this was not an omissis. As an Italian saying goes “a buon intenditore poche parole”.
