An alternative view on the impact of the current mass immigration on a country’s economy

The article below was published in the Telegraph. The problem with this article is that the case described by Matthew Lynn is not one of mass immigration into the UK but one related to individual migration issues. It is ‘single migration’ that is having this impact on the UK economy. The lorry drivers crisis is not being provoked by the fact that Britain has stopped mass immigration into the country but because a sector – that of the foreign lorry drivers – opted to leave the country. In some cases, these lorry drives opted to go back to their respective countries and do not want to return because economically they are better of now in their home country than living in uncertainty in the UK. The writer may be an economic expert but he appears to be less knowledgable about the workings of migration – including that of how mass migration works or operates.
