A president with a strong moral fabric can deliver Malta from the horrendous judicial mess that the Caruana Galizia family has created.

Clearly, Matthew Caruana Galizia wants to undermine the authority of the President of the Republic of Malta but failed miserably. As a member of Transparency International, an agency that is based in Germany, he participated in a survey to check how much the Maltese Nation revers its president or not. Both the Times and Malta Today reported that only 2% stated that they have no trust in the President of the Republic of Malta because he is corrupt. 2% is insignificant. This only goes to show that 98% of the population have faith in their president. If the representative of Transparency International in Malta, Matthew Caruana Galizia thought that with this survey he was going to achieve something, he was mistaken.

In the articles published by the mainstream media, the emphasis was on this 2% rather than on 98% that has faith in our President. This story appeared after Glenn Bedingfield revealed that the material on Daphne Caruana Galizia’s computer had been deleted on the instructions of her family. Nobody in Malta had the guts to ask for its contents before this happened. Basically, neither the office of the attorney general nor the inquiring magistrate nor the police ever bothered to make a proper request for the data. when in this computer, there was information that clearly could lead to uncovering the true murderer of Daphne Caruana Galizia.  And it is for this reason, that this family has a personal interest to ensure that the moral authority of the President of Malta is undermined.

Matthew Caruana Galizia knows full well that the President of the Republic has an enviable track record of a strong moral standing and leadership. He needs to be undermined before the true story of Daphne’s saga becomes public. This is why the contents of this computer had to be destroyed. 

Daphne Caruana Galizia is crying out for justice. As in the story of Jesus, Matthew 27, 24-25, “His blood be on us and on our children!” Jesus was a man. Daphne is a woman. Change his to her, and there will be the answer to why that data was allowed to be destroyed. Jesus suffered from the travesty of justice. Today, it is Daphne Caruana Galizia’s turn to suffer from such a travesty of justice thanks also to the incompetence of the inquiring bodies. Those who are supposedly investigating her murder created an entire network to protect the real murderer/s because, very likely, to use Jason Azzopardi’s words, they are friends to judges, magistrates and politicians. Those responsible for this heinous murder believe that they can manipulate the cabinet but they also know that it is well- nigh impossible to manipulate George Vella. 

Thus, this survey was used as a media ploy to goad the President. Perhaps they succeeded, but they would have been happier had the survey resulted with a higher percentage of the Maltese people not trusting the President.

The intention was to weaken his standing because they are well aware that once the true story of this disgraceful murder is out in the open, people will be questioning the behaviour of some of our magistrates, some of our judges, the police force, the attorney general’s office, and last but not least the Church as well as the media.

There are many individuals from different walks in life who have a vested interest to obstruct the true process of justice. They know that only a president, with the stamina of George Vella can stand up to their shameless arrogance and corruption. As the ‘mafioso pentito’ Tommaso Buscetta once declared: were I to start revealing the whole truth, no one would believe me!
