There was a post on Facebook which stated that Methode Electronics has sent home its employees who declined the vaccine, on UNPAID LEAVE, threatening that if they don’t, they will lose their job! I am also aware that other employees in other workplaces have been threatened.
What do the Maltese labour laws state on this matter? On which grounds are employers basing these decisions? Are the employers breaching Resolution 2361 (2021) of the EU Parliamentary Assembly on the ethical, legal and practical considerations on Covid-19 vaccines?
In my blog “Are Mandatory Vaccines Lawful?” I voiced the opinion that by such actions, employers are infringing Article 1 “Right to Equality”, Article 2 “Freedom from Discrimination”, Article 3 “Right to Security of Person”, Article 7 “Right to Equality Before the Law” which also adds that “No one shall be subjected without his free consent to medical or scientific experimentation”, Article 22 “Right to Social Security” and Article 23 “Right to Desirable Employment”. 
And where is the government, who boasts that it loves the nation and its workers in front of such actions? Does this love now depends on the Covid-19 vaccine?
The Methode Electronics were contacted on this matter but till the time of posting of this blog, no reply was received.
