Will his Grace, the Archbishop of Malta, Charles J. Scicluna resign, after one of his CEOs got caught doing business with Yorgen Fenech in 2019?

Last Sunday, The Sunday Times of Malta, published an article in which it alleged that Anton Attard sent chat messages to Yorgen Fenech. What results from this piece of news, is that the person who was asking for a favour from Yorgen Fenech belongs to the inner sanctum of the PN and had worked closely with Daphne Caruana Galizia prior to her murder.

I suspect that Jacob Borg did not realize that Anton Attard is also the brother-in-law of Beppe Fenech Adami, who for some time was also the deputy head of the Nationalist Party. But what is incongruous in Borg’s article is the fact that it was Anton Attard who sought favours from Yorgen Fenech and not vice-versa. Despite this fact, the journalist in question tried to put Yorgen Fenech in bad light and not Anton Attard.  So much for investigative journalism.

It should be pointed out that Anton Attard’s sister, Ann, is married to Beppe Fenech Adami. Beppe Fenech Adami was one of those politicians who demanded the resignation of Adrian Delia after Jacob Borg had published a chat message (later proven to have been manipulated) between Yorgen Fenech and Adrian Delia. Sadly, Ann Fenech Adami joined him in this crusade!

But there is another more important matter that demands an explanation. How did Jacob Borg come into possession of these chat messages between Anton Attard and Yorgen Fenech?

Ad nauseam, I have to repeat that that there is a court ban on publishing these chat messages! That the court is being systematically and blatantly hijacked of her authority has now become a regular feature and Jacob Borg has no qualms about this whatsoever. But I ask whether you have guessed the reason?

As those following the ongoing cases concerning Yorgen Fenech know, those in possession of these chat messages are the court, the police the prosecution, the parte civile and the defence. Therefore, who has a vested interest to ignore the court ban and regularly like a clockwork pass on chat messages which till this day are still banned publication? The defence certainly would not go about matters in this way. I leave it to the public to solve this conundrum as to the who and why.    

What I can assure the readers however, is that Jacob Borg will not be accused of contempt of court for publishing these messages nor will the Caruana Galizias accuse him of being in cahoots with criminals for disobeying a court order. 

If ever there was any need for confirmation, this Sunday Times of Malta article confirms that, in Malta, there is a law for the elite and another law for us lesser mortals!

While Anton Attard was, and I assume still is one of the PN strategists, he is also a very close friend of the Archbishop of Malta, Charles Jude Scicluna. Attard has recently been appointed to serve on the Church’s media board and he is in a very close working relationship with Fr. Joe Borg. In the past, Attard was also involved with Net TV.

What are Manuel Delia, the Civil Society Network and Repubblika going to do now? Is Matthew Caruana Galizia going to write a post asking Anton Attard to resign from all his currently held positions for asking Yorgen Fenech for financial favours?

I wish to highlight that this story of the presumed contact between Anton Attard and Yorgen Fenech took place after Daphne Caruana Galizia was murdered and also after the owner of 17Black had been exposed by the media.

Will his Grace, the Archbishop of Malta, Charles J. Scicluna be asked to resign, after employing as a CEO a person who got caught doing business with Yorgen Fenech in 2019?

This time round, all these who champion the rule of law have fallen into a deep lethargy as a result of the contact that Anton Attard, Beppe Fenech Adami’s brother-in-law, had with Yorgen Fenech.
