A member in my group, Moira Sciberras, took a screenshot of a post sent to me by a Nationalist Party supporter about Beppe Fenech Adami, which she uploaded on the Facebook group of Bernard Grech. The uploading of this post brought a reaction from some of Bernard Grech’s supporters. This small nucleaus of members started expressing their rant against me. In truth, given the fact that this group has 17,000 members, the number of those who expressed their disapproval for the post in question was rather small; on my part I see no problem in having them in my group. Should they wish to join my group as suggested to them by David Borda, they are more than welcome. I will not impinge on their freedom to comment freely in my group.
Nonetheless, there is one particular comment, I would like to focus on. After this post on Beppe Fenech Adami was republished, someone from this group of Bernard Grech restarted the mantra that I should be expelled from university. The reason given now was different from the one advanced by Daphne Caruana Galizia’s supporters.
Yet, this person expressed the true reason why I should be expelled from University. I should be expelled not on the basis of whether my writings are true or false, as the supporters of Daphne Caruana Galizia have been declaring but on the grounds that when elections are next held, and I am still active, the Nationalist Party will be in great trouble because of my posts. It is clear that these individuals, who have been backing Bernard Grech and Daphne Caruana Galizia believe that the University of Malta is their God-given fiefdom! They are hell bent on being the ones to decide who can teach at this university and who should not. They firmly believe that once they win the next elections they will seize control of this institution. What is even worse, this is the level of freedom of speech today within the PN. What a lark!
