Blogpost by Marica Micallef: Is Pfizer to be trusted with the Covid-19 vaccine?

Marica MicallefPart One

Pfizer Inc. is an American, multinational pharmaceutical corporation and one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, ranking 57 on the 2018 Fortune 500 list of those that make most revenue  (and, for creating more customers for Big Pharma industries).

It also tried to further increase its revenue by trying to merge with Allergan back in 2016, in order to create the Ireland-based “Pfizer plc”, in a deal amounting to 160 billion dollars. How? BECAUSE IN THIS WAY, BY MERGING WITH A FOREIGN COMPANY, IT WOULD HAVE AVOIDED TAXES! This deal was called off in April 2016, because of the new rules from the US Department of the Treasury against tax inversions.

Here is a history of lawsuits behind Pfizer:

Between 1996 and 2000 Pfizer ILLEGALLY MARKETED the antileptic drug Neurontin. On April 4, 2010, the family of 57-year-old Hartley Shearer, who had committed suicide after 16 months of taking the drug, was rewarded $400,000 after they filed a lawsuit in the federal court of Boston, accusing Pfizer of failing to warn doctors and patients that Neurontin can increase the risk of suicide. Ironically, the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) had approved this drug for the treatment of epilepsy and shingles.[1]

In another court case in Boston, Pfizer was ordered to pay Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. (a health insurance) and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals $47.36 million, which is tripled to over $140 million in damages, under the racketeering law. This is because Kaiser stated that its doctors were misled into believing that Neurontin could be used for unapproved purposes and the insurance had to pay $90 million more than it should have, because of the drug.

This leads me to question whether doctors worldwide are being misled on other medicine and on the “so called scientific proven” protocols that are adhered to in hospitals, including those used during this pandemic.

Another health insurance which sued Pfizer was Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) for illegally marketing their drugs Bextra, Geodon and Lyrica, using kickbacks and wrongly persuading doctors to prescribe these drugs.  FiercePharma reported that “According to the suite, Pfizer not only handed out those ‘misleading’ materials on off-label uses, but entertained over 5,000 doctors on Caribbean junkets and paid them $2,000 honoraria in return for listening to lectures about Bextra, meetings in Bahamas, Virgin Islands and across the U.S. The case was settled in 2014 for $325 million. [2][3] Corruption at its best!

Needless to say, that this company, which has so much at heart our health is of such a big service to humanity that one can’t help but applaud it for the gaining so much money for “its mission to create a healthy nation”.

Here are the amounts for 2019:

Revenue:            $51.75 billion

Operating Income:        $16.30 billion

Net Income:        $16.27 billion

Total Assets:       $167.489 billion

Total Equity:       $63.14 billion[4]

You might wonder how come does it still make so much money when it lost so many lawsuits and forged millions!? Well, it still gained an economic advantage by having sold far more packages of its unapproved drugs, making still a larger margin of profit when compared to the fines paid!

Do you understand how it works? They pay 2.3 billion in fines but make 180 billion in profit. Fines are handled by Pfizer as an additional business cost.

My questions are:

How come is it still operating?

How come is it being trusted with the Covid-19 vaccine?

Do you trust it?

How come governments worldwide bought vaccines from it FROM OUR TAXES??
